There is solid evidence that bacteria and/or enzymes can improve a wide range of lake problems, especially when used in conjunction with aeration. However, we have found that they cannot always be counted on. We do recommend them wherever their cost is low relative to the potential benefit. Our feeling is that if it works, it will be a cheap solution, and if it doesn't, there isn't much lost. Just like the beneficial microorganisms that are found in nature, these microbial products safely break down wastes and keep natural ecosystems in balance. Typical applications include:

• Improving pond/lake water quality.
• Reducing sediment organic matter.
• Bioremediation of soil and water (hydrocarbon and VOC treatment).
• Treatment of sludge, biosolids and wastewater.
• Maintenance of septic systems.
